The Instruments of  Graham  Hine

Graham Hine is a renowned and slide guitarist, song writer and singer and has been well respected in the UK blues scene for the last 40 years.

His unique style of playing  led to him recording of two solo albums on Blue Goose Records which was famous in the late 60s for recording unknown blues artistes. The fact that Graham is British, yet his guitar skills were recognised by an American blues label demonstrates the high esteem to which he held then and has continued to the present day.

He has made and played several of his own guitars, and is currently playing a neck through body guitar in rock maple. He also plays a 1930 steel Dobro designed by the Depero brothers, a Fender Squire with Di-Marzio pick ups and a Yamaha acoustic.

He was once the proud owner of a crackle painted National guitar, which was brought over from America by Nick Perls of Blue Goose Records. Graham worked for two weeks in a bakery to earn enough money to buy it from him. Nick wanted £50 for it , but Graham had only earned £40. Luckily, Jo Ann Kelly forced Nick to sell it for £10 less.

Graham had the National gold plated by the GPO, and when the Bretts toured with Derek and the Dominoes, Eric Clapton offered him any two of his guitars for it! It looked good, but the Dobro sounds better
